The jump

Fifty seconds that rearrange your week

You will be strapped to the front of an instructor who has done this more times than they can count. They handle the exit, the freefall, the canopy and the landing. Your job is to arch your back and keep your eyes open.

The aircraft climbs for about twenty five minutes over Phewa Lake. The door opens at thirteen thousand feet. From there it is fifty seconds of freefall at around two hundred kilometres an hour, then six quiet minutes under the parachute with the whole Annapurna range in front of you.

Almost everyone says the same thing afterwards: it is nothing like they expected, and they want to go again.

Tandem questions.

All questions
How long does the whole thing take?

Budget around three hours from pickup to being dropped back at your hotel. The jump itself is about seven minutes from the door to the ground. Most of the time is briefing, gearing up and waiting for your load.

Can friends and family come and watch?

Yes, and we encourage it. There is space at the landing zone and it is a good spot to watch from. Tell us in the special requests box so we can keep seats in the van.

I wear glasses or contact lenses. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We have goggles that fit over glasses. Contact lenses are fine too, and the goggles keep the wind out.

When do I get my footage?

The handcam files are handed over on a card before you leave the dropzone. Edited reels from the VIP and Platinum packages take two to three days and arrive as a download link.
